Choosing the 2022 Jeep Wrangler in Lethbridge
A compact SUV notable for its off-road capabilities and iconic history, the 2022 Jeep Wrangler is a military-inspired, aesthetically pleasing, practical-in-every-way vehicle. Eight decades in the making, the Jeep Wrangler offers excitement and adventure for those who want more out of a vehicle than just a staid driving experience.
While pricing and model info has not yet been released for the 2022 model, there are not expected to be many changes from 2021. The latest generation of the Jeep Wrangler was introduced for the 2018 model year, and since Wrangler generations tend to stick around for a while, the 2022 model will probably debut untouched.
Models and Pricing
If the models carry over unchanged from 2021 to 2022, the Jeep Wrangler will be offered for sale in Lethbridge and across Canada in 16 model variations. It might seem like a lot, but Jeep ensures that there is a model to meet everyone’s wants and needs. They are also customisable, so drivers can get the power, performance, features, and style they want in a Wrangler.
The Jeep model lineup starts off with the entry-level Sport model, which starts at $37,665 and features a Uconnect 3 multimedia centre with 5.0-inch touchscreen, 17-inch wheels, rear backup camera, and a 3.6-litre V6 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
For drivers wanting the best value and the original two-door Wrangler model, the best choice is the Sport S. Starting at $42,710, it adds in standard features such as power windows and locks, air conditioning, a leather-wrapping steering wheel, and more. The Unlimited Sport S extends to four doors and adds in a Unconnect 4 multimedia system with 7.0-inch touchscreen, 7.0-inch digital display gauge cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 60/40 split-folding rear seats.
Performance
Under the hood, Jeep introduced two new powertrains in 2021, and these incredible feats of engineering will be back for 2022. At one end of the spectrum, Jeep introduced its first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) Wrangler 4xe model, which delivers 375 horsepower as well as 40km of electric-only driving range. At the other end, the V8 Rubicon 392 model delivers 470 horsepower and more power and capability in a Wrangler than ever before.
The standard Wrangler engine is a 3.6-litre V6 engine that delivers 285 horsepower. Other powertrains include a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, 3.6-litre V6 with ESS, and 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 with ESS.
Design
From two doors to four doors, from a PHEV engine to a V8, some of the Wrangler’s success comes from the customisation of its design and capability. The Unlimited four-door models offer removable doors and roofs, and the interior of the Wrangler can be customised to be water resistant as well. Adventurous to the core, a wide range of available colours, styles, textures, and materials can be hand-picked to suit drivers the best.
The 2022 Wrangler continues Jeep’s storied tradition of offering capable off-road vehicles that are fun and adventurous to drive. Whether going to work or going to play, the 2022 Jeep Wrangler makes a statement in Lethbridge.
